Opening Doors with a Voice: Speaker Lê Trang at the “Employment Bridge” Conference, November 27, 2025

The “Employment Bridge – Accompanying Employers and People with Visual Impairments” conference, organized by Sao Mai Center for the Blind with support from The Nippon Foundation, has ended, but the words of speaker Lê Trang continue to stay with many participants.

“As long as we have a voice, we already have a door to step into the world.” This is the message she shared, drawn from her own ten-year journey of persistence.

At the event, she spoke about how a person with visual impairment can “turn their ears into eyes”: using a screen reader to record 500 pages of books, practising continuously to discover a unique vocal quality, and building a personal brand starting from the smallest assignments.

As a pioneer in designing voice training programmes specifically for people with visual impairments, she introduced a fresh perspective: people with visual impairment can confidently pursue sound-based creative careers such as voice talent, radio presenter, podcaster or voice coach.

What deeply moved the audience was not only her perseverance but also the strong sense of belief she passed on to young people with visual impairments.

This year’s programme focuses on connecting businesses and people with visual impairments through real skills and capabilities, rather than through stereotypes. The story shared by speaker Lê Trang is a clear demonstration that, when given the chance, people with visual impairments are not only able to work, but can excel.

Sao Mai Center for the Blind would like to express its sincere thanks to Ms. Lê Trang for her inspiring sharing, and hopes that the spirit of “opening doors with your voice” will continue to spread within the community of people with visual impairments and among the businesses that choose to accompany them.
