  • Myanmar National Association of the Blind (MNAB) for the testing and distributing the Windows version to the hands of visually impaired person in Myanmar.

The Burmese TTS was first developed for Windows platform and released in late of 2018, complying with SAPI standard so all Windows screen reading software like NVDA and Jaws should support to read Burmese and Parli documents. The TTS also has feature to let users configure the second voice to read text written in other languages than the Burmese and Parli default one. The Android version is released in May, 2019, complying with Google TTS standard so Android screen reading apps like Talkback and Voice Assistant can work well with it.

The TTS is provided free of charge for all users for their non-commercial purposes. For technical support, please contact Mr. Benedict from the Myanmar Assistive Technology Research & Development Center at: lkbenedict@gmail.com; or, email us at: support@saomaicenter.org.

We hope that this Burmese TTS will bring more opportunities for the Myanmar blind community to better access to education and employment.
