Mastering Technology, Shaping the Future: The Story of Bùi Ngọc Thịnh at Employment Bridge Conference - November 27, 2025

At the “Employment Bridge – Accompanying Employers and People with Visual Impairments” conference held by Sao Mai Center for the Blind with support from The Nippon Foundation, speaker Bùi Ngọc Thịnh, founder of Ngọc Thịnh Studio, shared an inspiring story that affirmed a clear message: technology can be a powerful key that opens opportunities for people with visual impairments.

He recalled his childhood, when at the age of nine he began to explore a computer entirely on his own. There were no textbooks and no instructors; only patience and a deep love for sound guided him as he learned each key and function step by step. Those early years laid the foundation for his long-term journey with technology and audio.

A turning point came when he had access to the professional Sonar training materials developed by Sao Mai Center. Technology did not only help him learn how to record and produce music in a structured, methodical way; it also opened up a clear career pathway, where his passion for sound and his growing technical knowledge could come together.

In 2018, he officially entered the field of professional music production. Within just two years, with determination and a clear vision, Ngọc Thịnh Studio was established in Khánh Hòa and later expanded to Ho Chi Minh City. One notable aspect of his work is that he manages the studio remotely, entirely through technology. This is a vivid example that when people with visual impairments master technology, they can run and develop a business just like anyone else.

Importantly, Thịnh has chosen not to keep success to himself. He actively shares his knowledge and walks alongside the visually impaired community. He teaches technology skills, helps many people learn how to record, arrange and produce music by themselves, and creates an environment where they can gain practical experience and earn a stable income. To date, Ngọc Thịnh Studio has created jobs for five employees with visual impairments and five sighted staff members – a figure that reflects the strength of sharing and the belief in the capabilities of people with visual impairments when they receive appropriate support.

During his talk, Thịnh left a message filled with determination: “Don’t be afraid of technology. Consider your phone and your computer as your most important companions. When you teach yourself and confidently move forward, you will create your own opportunities.” His story is a strong affirmation that mastering technology is, in many ways, mastering one’s own future.

Sao Mai Center sincerely thanks Bùi Ngọc Thịnh for his inspiring sharing, and we hope that his spirit of perseverance, self-learning and generosity will continue to encourage the visually impaired community today and in the years to come.
