On May 16, 2024, at Kì Hòa Hotel, 238 Ba Tháng Hai Street, Ho Chi Minh City, Sao Mai Center for the Blind successfully organized the seminar "Unlimited Employment Opportunities." The event attracted over 50 delegates representing the Department of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs, recruitment companies, enterprises, Mitra Netra Foundation from Indonesia, research groups on assistive technology for the visually impaired from Taiwan, schools or centers for visually impaired people, along with parents and visually impaired students in Ho Chi Minh City. The seminar aimed to discuss practical solutions to promote employment for the visually impaired, thereby contributing to the creation of an equal and inclusive working environment for them.

Visually impaired students participating in the seminar shared the difficulties they had encountered in seeking employment in current Vietnam labor market. These difficulties include: lack of information about the labor market, limited access to recruitment information, lack of soft skills, and work experience.
Enterprises shared about the challenges and requirements for visually impaired workers:
Ms. Huyen Ngan, Director Assistant from Vinacacao stated that enterprises also face many challenges in recruiting and employing visually impaired labors. Some challenges include: lack of labor supply with suitable professional qualifications, inadequate facilities and equipment to support visually impaired workers and lack of support policies from the government.
Recruiters shared about professional recruitment procedures for the visually impaired:

Ms. Phuong, a member of the Career Orientation Department at Nguyen Dinh Chieu Specialized High School, asked about the necessary skills and preparation for visually impaired students to meet the requirements of the labor market.
Forum on opportunities and challenges for the visually impaired in job seeking:
The second session of the seminar was a forum specifically for young people, students with visual impairment and their parents. Through exchanges and sharing of practical experiences, they emphasized the importance of skills such as self-acceptance, independence, and building personal brands. These are also important factors to help the visually impaired expand job opportunities and integrate well into society.
