Using NVDA more effective with Speech History add-on

Add-on for reviewing, and copying messages spoken by NVDA.

When write article such as guide for using a program, one of the most important is to write correctly the terms, the info display on program's dialog. For NVDA, you have a good tool for this job. That is an add-on called Speech History - Add-on save the most recent 100 message spoken by NVDA. User can easily review and copy those messages.

Usage

After downloading and installing, press Shift+F12 to go forward and here the message spoken before, press Shift+F11 to go back the spoken messages. Press F12 to copy current spoken message. You'll hear a beep tone that alert the message has been copied to clipboard.

Example

  • Press Windows+R to open Run dialog and let NVDA read all info on this dialog.
  • Press Shift+F11 until you hear something like Run dialog then press Shift+F12. This might easier for you to review. NVDA will speech the following messages:
    • Run dialog Type the name of a program, folder, document, or Internet resource, and Windows will open it for you.
    • Open: combo box collapsed
    • selected notepad.
  • when you go to the last spoken message, you'll hear a beep that alert you.
  • At any spoken message, press F12 to put it into the clipboard.

This add-on saves my time a lot while writing article about technology, and I hope this useful for you too.
